Phonological Awareness is a significant factor in early literacy development. Developmentally these skills are typically addressed in primary grades. However, if a student does not have a solid understanding of phonetic principles, they will have a gap in their reading process which will inhibit their success as a reader. This series of lessons on phonological awareness will provide you with an understanding of each of the components, teaching tips and valuable resources. Designed and facilitated by Jigsaw Learning Associate Cheryl Gascoyne, this series is intended to enhance skills and is not a substitute for a certificated program. Credits will not be granted nor is this learning series transferable to any other learning institution. Upon completion of this learning series, participants will be able to print a Certificate of Completion for their records.
